First vice speaker of the parliament Adam Martynyuk proposed the VR deputies to dissolve a number of parliamentary committees of inquiry, which do not perform their duties.

According to Martynyuk, the Verkhovna Rada was supposed to listen to a preliminary report of the Temporary committee of inquiry on violation of deputies’ rights today. But chairman of the committee Ihor Shkirya “asked again to postpone the report.”

“In this connection, I want to remind our resolution of July 25, 2006 on formation of the mentioned committee, the seventh article of which provides for that a report of the committee must take place not later than after three months since the day of adoption of the resolution,” Martynyuk said.

“Due to that the chairman of the committee, as well as chairmen of other committees often ask to postpone their reports – either they are not ready or have no time – I propose to analyze activities of all committees of inquiry and to liquidate those which failed to finish work by the time fixed,” he added.
