The session with the assistance of Chief of Staff Victor Baloha was opened by roman Bezsmertny, who reported his resignation from the post of the faction’s leader and asked to support Kyrylenko’s candidature for this office.
Bezsmertny underlined that he would focus his work in the party on the post of the head of executive committee of the party. “I take this step meaningly so as to stay together,” he said.
In his turn, Kyrylenko declared that he was surprised by Bezsmertny’s decision, but he is ready for work and that he understands that being a leader of the OU faction is a great confidence from the colleagues’ side and even greater responsibility.
Kyrylenko noted that Our Ukraine faction will remain the most democratic and open parliamentary faction, and also the most active in maintaining democratic values, Eurointegration and Ukraine’s accession into NATO.
