Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko called Tuesday
for South Korean companies to increase their investment in the Eastern European
country as part of efforts to boost bilateral economic cooperation, Yonhap News informed.
"Ukraine's credit rating has been revised up to positive from stable and the country is the most favored investment destination in Eastern Europe," the Ukrainian leader said during a luncheon meeting with South Korean businessmen.
The Ukrainian president said he hopes South Korea will think positively about its investment and business activities in the Ukraine to boost bilateral economic cooperation.
He said the agreement signed in the summit with President Roh on bilateral cooperation in aerospace and defense industries is a tangible result of his visit to Seoul.
In his turn, Sohn Kyung-shik, head of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said South Korean businesspeople would be good partners in the course of the two countries seeking greater prosperity.
