The Government and Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine agreed on signing General Agreement for 2007 after updating text. Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych proposed this during his speech at the session of the Council of Trade Unions’ Federation of Ukraine. The FTU supported the PM’s initiative, Cabinet press office reported.

“It is very important to sign agreement based on the figures provided for the 2007 Budget and next year we can sign General Agreement for two years – 2008 and 2009. If you support me we can complete this document”, Viktor Yanukovych said.

Prime Minister promised “to provide only real figures of economic and pay increase” while drafting budgets for the following years. Viktor Yanukovych also stressed on the importance of social dialogue for efficient work of Government.
