The President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko considers further membership in the European Union and NATO as a ground for democratic development of the State.

“Membership in the European Union and NATO will be a guarantee of sovereignty, security and democratic development of the State,” Yushchenko told today in the scope of the meeting with the Foreign Minister of Estonia Urmas Paet in Tallinn.

Yushchenko told the Estonian Minister about actions of Ukraine aimed at European and Euro-Atlantic integration

In his turn Paet noted that “Estonia supports the program of Ukraine on membership in NATO which demands unique and strong desire from the Ukrainian side.”

As regards the question on the Ukrainian-Moldavian boarder in Transdnester, Yushchenko and Paet estimated activity of frontier mission of the EU(EUBAM-Border Mission) positively.

“Estonia wishes peaceful solution of Transdnestrian conflict,” the head of the Foreign Minister noted.

The President of Ukraine supported the idea of common attraction of international community to this problem.
