In Ukraine the problem of freedom of speech is of current importance. The Prime Minister of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych told at the session of the Cabinet of Ukraine, the ForUm’s correspondent reports.

“Heads of some local authorities put obstacles in the way of journalist,” he said.

Yanukovych asked officials to take measures on this issue.

“All local authorities should create conditions to enable journalists to cover official work and of course those shortcomings that exist in every region,” he noted.

Such discussion was also held with the Head of the Verkhovna Rada of Autonomic Republic of Crimea. “There was some unpleasant case concerning the violation of freedom of speech in Crimea. But we achieved understanding and we will make order there,” he stressed.

Addressing the Ministers at the session, the Prime Minister said: “I ask you to carry out such work in other regions before the New Year holidays.”
