A draft budget for 2007 envisages almost twofold increase of financing of events of the state program of informing the society about Ukraine's Euro-Atlantic integration, Chairman of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting Eduard Prutnik told journalists following a session of the Ukraine - NATO political committee in the Alliance HQ, Cabinet press office reported.
According to Prutnik, in 2007 the Committee will receive 10 million UAH (2 M. USD) for the purpose of informing the society about relations between Ukraine and NATO.
"Information that we disseminate is not agitation. It is first of all of educational nature and doesn't mean to be a subject for debates with any of political parties. We proceed from the fact that people have the right to possess enough information to pass conscious decisions," the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting Chairman said.
