President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin
will pay an official visit to Ukraine on December 22. Secretary of National
Security and Defense Council Vitaly Hayduk told journalists after the meeting
with his Russian colleague Igor Ivanov.
“We have agreed the date of holding intergovernmental commission Yushchenko-Putin. It will take place on December 22 in Kyiv,” he said.
According to Hayduk, on December 9 a meeting between Defense Ministers of Ukraine and Russia will take place, and a session of the committee on humanitarian affairs, headed by Education Ministers of Ukraine and Russia will come about.
Hayduk noted that a package of documents for signing is rather extensive, and it provides for inking a working plan of Yushchenko-Putin commission for 2007-2008.
