Today, on the second anniversary of the orange revolution, ministers of Victor Yanukovych’s government, appointed by Our Ukraine quota, have come to the Cabinet’s session without orange strips. Neither Interior Minister Yuri Lutsenko, nor Foreign Ministers Borys Tarasyuk and Defense Minister Anatoly Hrytsenko put on the strips.

“A strip is only a symbol,” Hrytsenko explained.

“Two years ago important events happened in Ukraine. The people can be proud – they defended their rights. There were people, who defended Yushchenko or Yanukovych, but the majority defended their election rights. It was a kind of pressure on the power, which gave positive results,” the minister added.

“Politicians, who have not passed an exam, and the very society, which thought one time to come out on Maydan would be enough, are guilty of that today’s holiday is celebrated tearfully. It is necessary all the time to remind the power that there are the people,” the official advised.
