Adaptation of Ukraine’s legislation to legislation of the European Union is one of key issues of the new Agreement on partnership and cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, discussion and consideration of which will start at the beginning of the next year. Chairman of EU Representative Office in Ukraine Ian Boag told Tuesday during the meeting with Ukraine’s Justice Minister Oleksandr Lavrynovich. 

Mr Boag discussed with the Justice Minister expediency of holding roundtables with representatives of deputies’ factions of the Verkhovna Rada with participation of representatives of the European commission. According to the ambassador, such meetings can help informing deputies and delivering experience in the sphere of harmonization of national legislation with the European one.

In his turn, Lavrynovich assured the representative of the European commission that Ukraine has all necessary instruments fro adaptation of the Ukrainian legislation, what is included in the Agreement on partnership and cooperation between Ukraine and the EU, as well as in the Action Plan of European neighbouring policy.
