Ukraine is ready to
stick to single rules of the EU energy market after they are adopted, Ukrainian
National Security and Defense Council Secretary Vitaliy Haiduk told an
international conference into energy issues in Brussels on Monday, Cabinet press office reported.
As he reminded in an
interview to Ukrainian journalists, presently the EU energy market is regulated
with bipartite agreements, which is not perfect for both the EU and
non-members.
Haiduk said Ukraine is
ready to join the common European energy market.
We are ready to
cooperation in the gas area, taking into consideration that Ukraine is one of
the biggest transit-nations. "But we wont to know who we are for Europe, a
buffer between Russia and Europe, or participants in the process," the
NSDC Secretary said.
As Haiduk specified,
talking about Ukraine's direct participation in the process he means not only
the duty to secure transit via Ukraine, but also securing its own needs,
"in correspondence with the balance."
