Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine, Minister of Building, Architecture, Housing and Communal Services of Ukraine Volodymyr Rybak met with a group of experts of the World Bank Department of Infrastructure which participate in fulfillment of the World Bank Project “City Infrastructure Development”.

In particular, the discussion concerned the current issues on finishing preparation of the above-mentioned project as well as – prospective directions of cooperation with the World Bank in the sphere of housing and communal services, “Cabinet’s press office” reported.

Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine noted that the Ukrainian side is interested in further deepening cooperation with the World Bank concerning housing and communal services reformation, in particular. “We initiate housing and communal services reformation. This process is capital-intensive. Today, the development of heating systems, elevators, introduction of energy saving technologies into the housing infrastructure etc. are our priority directions. We are working out now appropriate documents and intend to start realization of our plans in 2007. We have no time for reflection”, Volodymyr Rybak stressed.

The participants of the meeting have agreed to make every effort for making a final decision on the Project’s introduction in Ukraine during November-December 2006 and to begin financing it already in February 2007.
