At a briefing held after the Conciliatory Council, VR Chairman Oleksandr Moroz commented on the reasons for the delay of the draft budget-2007 consideration.
“The draft budget hearings have been postponed as there are lots of system proposals recently submitted by the factions, Count Chamber, other subjects of the legislative initiative and the President of Ukraine,” said VR Speaker Moroz adding that they all need to be considered for the effective budget to be adopted in time.
The second reason is that Vice-PM and Finance Minister Mykola Azarov responsible for the budget could not be in the hearings. Oleksandr Moroz mentioned that the Vice-PM undergoes a medical examination. He outlined that “it would not be right” to consider the draft without the First Vice-PM of Ukraine.
