In January-September 2006, Ukraine’s GDP made 6.2% comparing with the same period of 2005, the State Statistic Committee of Ukraine reports.

According to offered information, September’s GDP growth has made 8.9% comparing with September of 2005 and 0.5% comparing with August of 2006.

GDP growth has been resulted from increase in extra gross value of the extractive industries by 6.1%, the manufacturing industry by 5.4%, production and distribution of electric power, gas and water, including the construction by 7.6%, the transport sphere by 9.2%, retail and wholesale trade, vehicle trade and repair services by 13.7%.

As a reminder, in January-August of 2006, the real GDP increased by 5.7% comparing with the same period of 2005. In January-September 2005, GDP was 2.8% comparing with the same period of 2004.

In the end of July, the International Monetary Fund improved its forecast of Ukraine’s GDP-2006 from 2.3% to 5%.
