The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has not supported two draft bills on cancellation of privileges for people’s deputies.

The parliament has not approved in the first reading the draft bill “On introduction of changes to the law of Ukraine ‘on status of a people’s deputy of Ukraine” concerning regulation of activity and cancellation of privileges, submitted by Our Ukraine faction member Borys Bespaly. Only 206 out of 425 registered deputies voted for the draft bill.

The VR also has not supported in the first reading the draft bill with the same name, submitted by several deputies, including BYuT leader Yulia Tymoshenko. Only 215 out of 425 registered deputies voted for.

Party of Regions’ faction has not voted for both draft bills almost with its full complement.
