“We find it very important to have an active diplomatic dialogue [with your country],” he said.
The President said Ukraine and Argentina could jointly carry out investment, trade, economic, military, energy and industrial projects. He praised the dynamics of trade between the countries and added that the bilateral import/export rate had doubled in the past year.
Yushchenko thanked the government of Argentina for supporting Ukrainian immigrants. He said Ukraine was ready to host Argentine students, particularly those from the Ukrainian community. He also invited his colleague, President Nestor Kirchner, to Ukraine.
Mr.Taiana said active diplomatic interaction would certainly “forcefully stimulate” the planning of further steps aimed at developing Ukrainian-Argentine relations.
“There are many friends of Ukraine in Argentina, and we have much in common,” he said.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk and Deputy Chief of Staff Oleksandr Chalyy attended the meeting.
