Foreign Minister Borys Tarasyuk, who left for Poland and Finland on Tuesday, August 29, will devote his stay in Helsinki to preparations for Prime Minister Viktor Yanukovych's upcoming visit to Brussels and President Viktor Yushchenko's official visit to Finland, Cabinet’s press office reported.

The Ukrainian Head of Government is expected to visit Brussels on September 14; President Viktor Yushchenko's official visit to Finland has been slated for October 26 and 27.

Meeting in Kyiv on Monday with Finnish Ambassador to Ukraine Laura Reinila, Borys Tarasyuk got the Finnish diplomat's assurances about the EU member-nations' readiness to support political and economic reforms in Ukraine. The envoy also reaffirmed the EU's readiness to facilitate Ukraine - EU relationships, in particular, toward simplifying the visa regime, concluding the readmission agreement and creating a Ukraine - EU free trade zone.
