Victor Yushchenko and Russian President Vladimir Putin have discussed the successful settlement of last month's parliamentary crisis resulting in the signing of the National Unity Pact, President's press office reported.

They also discussed bilateral relations. The leaders assured each other they regarded cooperation between Ukraine and Russia as strategically vital. Additionally, they spoke about the projects carried out by the Yushchenko-Putin Commission.

Ukraine’s head of state said the new government had at last been formed and the presidents discussed Putin’s visit to Ukraine and Premier Yanukovych’s visit to the Russian Federation.
