Victor Yushchenko is meeting with VR Speaker Oleksandr Moroz, Deputy Speaker Adam Martynyuk, Roman Bezsmertny (Our Ukraine), Yulia Tymoshenko (BYuT), Viktor Yanukovych (Regions Party), Petro Symonenko (Communist Party) and Vasyl Tsyshko (Socialist Party) in accordance with part 3 of article 90 of the Constitution of Ukraine on dissolution of parliament, as press office of the President reports.

Yushchenko said the politicians had failed to meet the July 25 constitutional deadline to form a government but discussed many controversial issues.

“I think the parliament has walked it way and the President has walked his,” he said.

The Head of State said the political forces had virtually bridged all the differences on August 1 but some of them budged one day later. He bitterly admitted that participants of last week’s national roundtable aimed at signing a National Unity Pact failed to achieve results.

“Unfortunately, the pact has not been signed. What worries me most is that Ukraine’s five leading political forces failed to compromise on key priorities of the Constitution of Ukraine and national development,” he said.

The President promised he would adhere to the country’s laws when making any decision.

The talks started at 3 pm at the State Secretariat. Chief of Staff Oleh Rybachuk, First Deputy Chief of Staff Ivan Vasyunyk, President’s Supreme Court Representative Volodymyr Shapoval, and President’s Legal Advisor Mykola Poludionny are present at the meeting.
