Sixty two American volunteers of the Peace Corps have sworn in Kyiv. Oleksandr Yarema, the Director of Youth Policy Department welcomed them and thanked their self-scarifying work, the Youth, Sport and Family Ministry press office informed.
In the last year the government of Ukraine had asked the Peace Corps to assist the Youth Development Project. The request was given positive response, Yarema told.
The US volunteers will work in schools and youth organisations in the rural area. The main goals of their activity are to popularise the healthy life-style, civil and ecological awareness and to teach computer skills and basic business knowledge. The volunteers will also put into practise the project of the economic development of the communities.
