Having deported Uzbek citizens, Ukraine violated the legal norms. The Chairman of the State Committee of Ukraine on Nationalities and Migration Serhiy Rudik voiced this point at the seminar “The Current State and Prospects of Development of the Migration Service of Ukraine” held today.
“The deportation of Uzbeks was illegal, and this matter has been still pressing one for four months. Nobody expected then that the Uzbeks would have been deported before the term of the appeal of a decision expired,” said Rudik.
Several organisations on human rights urge the agencies of the government and the President of Ukraine personally to voice a legal interpretation of the deportation of the Uzbek citizens, the Chairman of the State Committee of Ukraine on Nationalities and Migration Serhiy Rudik told.
According to him, the lack of the coordination between SBU, Interior Ministry, frontier guards and his Committee caused such violation of the rules.
He stresses that the consultative body should be formed in order to avoid such incidents in the future. He also emphasizes that the organisations on human rights should be involved in such body’s work because they could provide legal assistance.
