May 23, Kateryna Yushchenko, Olena Yekhanurova, the premier’s wife, Iryna Ihnatenko, wife of Ukraine’s environmental minister, Olena Topolova, wife of the coal minister, Vitalina Yushchenko, the President’s daughter, and representatives of the Ukraine 3000 Foundation came to Lugansk to starta new program “The Joy of Childhood: Free Movements” to help children with infantile cerebral paralysis.
Kateryna Yushchenko visited the Lugansk Children’s Hospital, which takes part in the Hospital to Hospital Program, the president pres office reported.
She gave its little patientstoys and books and also diagnostic endoscopic equipment, which was purchased by the Medservice- Garant Company.
In her speech, the President’s wife said: “We try to involve local and foreign philanthropists in the Hospital to Hospital program. We are thankful to the Medservice-Garant Company and particularly its director, Serhiy Tsysar, for buying this equipment and supporting our projects. We help children’s hospitals throughout Ukraine. Twenty-five hospitals participate in our program. Last year, the Ukraine 3000 Foundation and Procter&Gamble presented an ambulance to the Luhansk Hospital. I hope this vehicle has been really helpful.” The First Lady visited some wards of the hospital.
Then Kateryna Yushchenko met with Luhansk businessmen. She urged them to actively support the oblast’s medical facilities and particularly repair the Lugansk Children’s Hospital and help it buy modern equipment.
