The information about Ukraine’s ban of NZ meat product export has been already proved false.
There were suggestions on May 17 that NZ meat had been suspended from crossing the Ukraine border, because of an alleged failure to meet certification demands, Newstalk ZB informed.
However, Tony Zohrab of the New Zealand Food Safety Authority says the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade has received confirmation that is not the case.
He says in fact, New Zealand has not exported meat to the Ukraine for some time.
Mr. Zohrab says the problem could well be a case of another country ripping off New Zealand's name.
