Commenting on information voiced by certain mass media that Russia might have not withdrawn all nuclear war-heads from Ukraine, Colonel-General Nikolay Solovtsov, RF Rocket Strategic Forces Commander said: “It is impossible.”
“None of Ukraine’s nuclear war-heads has ‘been lost.’ Everything was withdrawn to Russia,” stressed RF Colonel-General Solovtsov in the interview to “Argumenti I Facty” out on Wednesday.
As a reminder, January, 1994, Ukraine, the USA and Russia inked the agreement on denuclearized status of Ukraine. In accordance with this document, the USA and RF ensure Ukraine’s safety. Later on December 5, 1994, in Budapest, Ukraine was provided with guarantees of its territorial integrity in exchange for its surrender of the nuclear weapon. Now, the liquidation of strategic offensive weapon is coming to an end in Ukraine.
