In Warsaw, President of Ukraine Victor Yushchenko has stated that Ukraine needed a detailed agreement to form a stable and efficient parliamentary coalition.

“First and foremost, I would like to say that Ukraine needs a stable government to ensure stability in the next five years, which will be really important to determine Ukraine’s domestic and foreign course. Thus we must have a stable majority in the Verkhovna Rada,” he said.

The Head of State is convinced that this agreement should formalize and clarify all problematic issues that might impede performance of the future majority or even cause its collapse. He added that our parliamentarians might find the Polish experience useful.

Yushchenko said the orange forces “have been concentrating on the text of the political agreement for the past few weeks.”

“This document is not easy. It is not easy to compromise. But it must be done to succeed,” he said. “I wish this political coalition stability and endurance. As President, I promise to spare no effort to profoundly formalize these relations.”
