Kateryna Yushchenko took part in a ceremony to present medical equipment to the Zhytomyr Children’s Hospital and the Chernivtsi Children’s Hospital. It was purchased by the UN Office in Ukraine for the money raised at charitable events held to mark the twentieth anniversary of the Chornobyl disaster, the president press office reports.

The hospitals received a mobile surgery table and two modern electric cardiographs. Mrs. Yushchenko also gave their patientschildren’s books.

Borys Tarasyuk, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Sergiy Tsisar, Director of the MedService Company, Volodymyr Voronenko, Head of the Military Medical Academy, Victor Marchenko, Head Doctor of the Zhytomyr Children’s Hospital, and Natalya Shevchuk, Head Doctor of the Chernivtsi Children’s Hospital attended the ceremony.

The Hospital to Hospital program is intent to improve health care for children by finding partners such as hospitals, universities, medical foundations and pharmaceutical companies for children’s hospitals throughout Ukraine.
