In winter 2004, the Orange Revolution in Ukraine repeatedly made the headlines in newspapers around the world. Following recent parliamentary elections, the future of democracy in Ukraine again is the focus of international attention. Two keynote speakers from Ukraine will assess these history-making events.
Myroslav Marynovych, a vice president and professor at the Ukrainian Catholic University in Lviv, will discuss “The Experience of the Orange Revolution and the Transformation of the Ukrainian Nation.
Yaroslav Hrytsak, a professor at the University of Lviv and the Ukrainian Catholic University will discuss “Making Sense of the Orange Revolution a Year Later”. He will assess how the democratic potential of the Orange Revolution is being realized in Ukraine and other post-Soviet countries.
