Prosecutor’s Office of Kyiv has brought an action against Leonid Chernovetsky, candidature for the post of Kyiv mayor, on the fact of bribery of voters. Active mayor Oleksandr Omelchenko took the third place, raising 21.20% of votes.

Territorial polling commission reported this fact yesterday and noted that the institution of the criminal case was not a ground for making any decisions. Commission will wait for a court verdict.

According to preliminary data, Chernovetsky gained 31.83% of votes on elections of city mayor, his opponent Vitaly Klichko, leader of Pora-PRP – 23.70%.

Leonid Chernovetsky is an active people’s deputy. During parliamentary elections-2006 he also ran for the parliament’s seat on Our Ukraine party ticket (number 29 on the ticket).
