Ukrainian party offers Russia to sign supplementary agreements on joint use of separate objects for ensuring security of navigation in Black and Azov seas, as reported Volodymyr Ohryzko, first deputy Foreign Minister, during the press conference, summing up the session of subcommittee Ukraine-RF on temporal stationing of RF BSF.

According to him, during the meeting it was agreed to form a working group charged with hydrographic ensuring of navigation in Black and Azov seas. This working group starts working next fortnight. Ohryzko reminded that Ukraine’s principal position is that all hydrographic objects are property of Ukraine.

“These things are objective and shouldn’t be discussed,” said he. Ohryzko noted that the next stage is to legalize hydrographic objects as Ukraine’s property and to draw up necessary documents, after which Ukraine offers Russia to sign supplement agreements on joint use of separate objects for ensuring security of navigation in Black and Azov seas. “I am glad that, as a whole, Russian colleagues accept such approach,” said Ohryzko.

According to him, both parties will start inventory of RF BSF in Crimea at the beginning of March. Ohryzko noted that Russia and Ukraine named different figures, and there is lack of coincidence of Ukraine’s and Russia’s positions as regards BSF objects.
