Ukraine Consul General Petro Andrienko announced that Kabardino-Balkariya local authorities laid illegal claim to the property of Ukraine situated on the territory of the South federal district.
Andrienko said Thursday “the Foreign Ministry of Ukraine sent the note of protest to the Foreign Ministry of Russia in connection with the incidents with the astronomic centre in Kabardino-Balkariya.”
According to his words, the Head of Terskol Settlement Administration brought a suit regarding the astronomic centre transfer to the local ownership. Andrienko called such action of the Head illegal.
Terskol Administration states that the centre has not paid taxes and has problems with basic documents.
Ukrainian Consul General explained that according to the bilateral agreement between Russia and Ukraine of January 15, 1993, the property of Ukraine located on the territory of Russia is protected from property infringements. The list of Ukrainian objects situated on the territory of Russia consists of 110 items, including the astronomic centre, Andrienko is confident.
