The current price for Russian and Central Asian gas ($95 per 1,000 cubic metres) will remain the same during the first half of a year. Then it will depend on the Asian gas price, RosUkrEnergo Executive Director Oleg Palchikov told.

He noted that $95 is the most optimal price over the whole post-soviet territory. “Moldova purchases gas at $130 but lost its gas-transport system. Georgia spends $110. Only Ukraine succeeded $95 and did not loose its own gas facilities,” said Palchikov.
