Secretary of Security Council of Russian Federation Igor Ivanov considers that the question of rent price for Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol is formulated in the corresponding agreement, and there is no need to revise it.

“As for the payment, this question is formulated in the document, and there is no need to revise it, and, especially, it should not be linked with the gas issue,” declared Ivanov during the joint press conference with Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council Secretary Anatoly Kinakh after their meeting in Kyiv.

Ivanov pointed out that the first session of a subcommittee on Black Sea Fleet functioning, attached to intergovernmental commission “Yushchenko-Putin”, would take place February 14, following which a constant channel for dialogue would be formed to solve any vexed question.

“Such vexed questions may appear, as not everything can be registered in agreements. In this case, experts should gather, solve a problem and find such understandings, which will not turn a technical question into a political one,” said Ivanov.
