Savik Shuster, the author of Freedom of Speech TV program, told ForUm about his views on freedom of speech in Ukraine.

“New power structures do not press down on ‘freedom of speech’; they just sometimes refuse to participate in it. I think it is bad for politicians who long for Europe,” said Shuster.

In response to the question about the reasons of his move to Ukraine, Savik Shuster said, ”Despite its high rating and good reputation, ’Freedom of Speech’ was prohibited by political reasons in Russia. So, if someone thinks that I start a pursuit of ‘rouble’ he is wrong because I have started for ‘hryvnya.’ A journalist has a right to earn money, does not he? If you sick of my Friday program you may switch to another channel with plenty Friday entertainments.”
