On January 9, President of Ukraine signed five and vetoed three laws of Ukraine.

Law 3250-IV on Changes to Article 41 of the Family Code of Ukraine, approved on December 20, 2005. Law 3261-IV on Changes to the Civil Code of Ukraine on Right to Information, passed on December 22, 2005. Law 3262-IV on Access to Court Records, passed on December 22, 2005. Law 3266-IV on Changes to Laws on Aides to Local Deputies, passed on December 22, 2005. Law 3284-IV on Overall Strength of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in 2006, approved on December 22, 2005.

President Victor Yushchenko vetoed the Law on Changes to Article 3 of the Law on Value Added Tax, which had been passed by members of the parliament on December 22, 2005, and delegated Finance Minister Victor Pynzenyk to present his remarks at a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada.

The Law on Changes to the Law on Inheritance Tax was vetoed and Finance Minister Victor Pynzenyk was charged to present his remarks at a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada.

President Victor Yushchenko vetoed the Law on Changes to Laws on Social Aid to Take Care of Children under Three, which had been passed on December 22, 2005, and delegated Labor Minister Ivan Sakhan to present his remarks at a plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada.
