The Anti-Monopoly Committee allowed the joint stock company "UkrNafta" to purchase a limited number of filling stations in the Zaporizhzhia region, Cabinet's press office reported.

In August the leading Ukrainian oil refinery appealed to the Committee with a request to be given a permission for acquisition of 41 filling stations in the Zaporizhzhia region. Experts of the Anti-Monopoly committee determined that acquisition of such a large number of filling stations by the "UkrNafta" may result in complete monopolization of the market in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The Committee permitted "UkrNafta" to purchase 26 filling stations of the "ZaporizhNaftoProdukt" and one of the "Val Vit" company.

Appearance of native competitor on oil products market is a strategic goal. The Committee supports establishment of another oil company on the basis of the "Ukrnafta". "At the same moment we attentively analyze situation before taking decision on concentration, with a view that this process result in monopolization, especially on regional markets," Chief of the Anti-Monopoly Committee Oleksiy Kostusiev said.
