In an interview with reporters in Kherson oblast, Victor Yushchenko said a free trade zone between Ukraine and Russia might be established in 2006, the President's press office reported.
“I will do my best to introduce free trade zone regulations in 2006,” he stressed.
The President reiterated that Ukraine and Russia had signed an agreement to create the FTZ in 1993 but failed to implement it so far. Yushchenko added that he had recently discussed this issue with Vladimir Putin and said they had agreed that it was necessary to support this initiative.
