Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine decided to invite CIS Mission of Observers as an official one in the elections at all levels in March, 2006.
243 members of parliament voted for the resolution.
The resolution charges Ukraine’s Speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn with the procedure of invitation and the Central Election Campaign with accreditation and proper functioning of the observers form CIS in he elections.
As a reminder, on December 13 the press secretary of Foreign Ministry Vasyl Fylypchuk informed that Ukraine would desist from invitation of CIS Mission of Observers in the parliamentary elections-2006 because of “biased approach of the Mission in the presidential elections-2004.” But the President of Ukraine stated that Ukraine would be ready to receive observers from all corners of the world, CIS included.
