Victor Yushchenko met with Prime Minister of Latvia Aigars Kalvitis, the President's press office reported.
The sides discussed trade-economic cooperation and Ukraine’s EU aspirations.
The Head of State stressed that he was pleased with Ukrainian-Latvian relations. He added that the countries had “no problematic issues.” Yushchenko noted that Latvia’s experience to join the EU was very important for us.
In his turn, Mr. Kalvitis assured his vis-à-vis that Latvia supported ourambitions and was ready to help us to join the EU. He said Ukrainian officials were trained in Latvia.
Discussing economic cooperation, Yushchenko and Kalvitis agreed that it was necessary to improve customs cooperation. Then theyspoke aboutways to use Ukraine’s transportation routes.
