The Republic of Ecuador and Ukraine have completed negotiations concerning signing of the protocol on mutual access to the markets of goods and services within the framework of Ukraine’s membership in WTO.
The signing is planned to be made in Geneva in the nearest future. The representatives of two countries have analyzed the cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian and other spheres. The important items of international life were under discussion. Particularly Ukrainian and Ecuadorian officials considered items of integration in Western hemisphere, the cooperation within the UN and different international organizations.
The participants of the negotiations mentioned the increasing volume of bilateral trade as a positive result of Ukraine-Ecuador cooperation.
The foreign ministers of two countries signed the working cooperation plan for 2006. Ecuadorian delegation was headed by Exterior Minister Francisco Carrion. Ukrainian representatives met National Defence Minister Osvaldo Harrin.
