The USA will not back Ukraine’s membership into WTO until Ukraine gets status of market economy. It was declared by Premier of Ukraine Yuri Yekhanurov who referred to the US Vice-President Dick Cheney.
Premier Yekhanurov stressed the necessity of parliamentary approval of WTO drafts and signing bilateral agreements with WTO members. And he also adds that the US government is not used to initiate the steps like these.
The agreement on status of market economy for Ukraine is scheduled to sign next January, 2006.
So, Pravda.com.ua agreed with Segodnya newspaper on fact that Yushchenko’s dream to enter into WTO by he end of 2005 is not fated to come true.
