Ukraine’s Exterior Ministry calls the statements of President of unrecognized South Ossetia Republic Eduard Kokoyty the provocation.
“The Foreign Ministry of Ukraine considers commenting on Kokoyty’s statements pointless. It is just populist action. The provocation aims to destabilize the situation in the region, to frustrate Saakashvili’s plan of peaceful settlement and to undermine the international authority of countries-supporters of the region,” the deputy Chief of Foreign Ministry press office Dmitry Svistkov responded to the provocation.
He stresses that development of military cooperation of Ukraine with any world country is regulate by Ukraine’s obligations within the expert’s control. Ukraine strictly obeys international sanctions introduced by UNO Security Council for military supply to any country of the world.
According to his word, there are no international restrictions concerning the military supply to Georgia. “To strengthen own Armed Forces is the sovereign right of every country which acts within the UNO requirements,” added Svistkov.
Yesterday Eduard Kokoyty claimed “international community to apply sanctions to Ukraine, Poland and Bulgaria which provide weapon to Georgia which is practically in state of war with South Ossetia and Abkhazia. They supply Georgia with ‘Grad’ and ‘Uragan’ and battle aviation.”
