The Chief Export of European Perspective Studies and Agrarian Policies Centre Michael Emerson met President of Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation Leonid Kozachenko.
In particular, Emerson said that Ukraine's future free trade agreement with the European Union would start with agricultural products trade, the UAC press service reported. Especially European and Ukrainian trade may focus n grain, sunflower, sugar and liquors.
Animal products, canned foods, soft drinks will be sold in the free trade regime in Ukraine adjusts its standards to European ones.
Michael Emerson concludes that Ukraine must establish market principles in the economy and change its state agricultural policies, technical regulations with regard to the standards of agricultural products and foods.
