Ukraine and the World Bank should resume cooperation at the appropriate level following the recent deterioration of their cooperation, Ukraine’s Prime Minister Yuri Yekhanurov said in the meeting with World Bank representatives, the Cabinet's press office reported.

Mr. Yekhanurov stated his intention to secure agreement on a meeting with the leadership of the World Bank during his visit to Washington that is planned for early November.

The World Bank's Director for Ukraine, Belarus, and Moldova Paul Birmingham said he was optimistic about the future of cooperation between Ukraine and the World Bank.

He congratulated Mr. Yekhanurov on his appointment as prime minister and the successful privatization of the Kryvorizhstal metallurgical plant.
