At a press conference in Kharkiv, Victor Yushchenko said on October 26 he would introduce the new president of the National Television Company of Ukraine (NTCU). He added that yesterday he had met all six applicants.
The Head of State said that, while interviewing them, he considered two important factors. First of all, this person should efficiently cooperate with the NTCU staff.
“I want this company to function without ‘surprises’,” he said.
Yushchenko added that the company should be reformed to be transformed to public television, which means it needs someone who can implement this policy. The President also said that turning the NTCU to public television was “the best use of resources.”
