A wide range of issues relating to development of Ukrainian - Georgian relations in the political, economic, cultural and military - technical spheres were discussed by Verkhovna Rada Chairman Volodymyr Lytvyn and Georgian Parliament Speaker Nino Burdzhanadze, on an official visit to Ukraine, in Kyiv on Thursday.
 
As the Ukrainian Speaker told a follow-up joint press conference, "we had an active, interesting and highly fruitful talk about Ukrainian and Georgian bilateral relations". The Speakers also focused on the two states' positions on the international arena, as well as prospects for the two nations' participation in European and Euro-Atlantic processes.
 
As Volodymyr Lytvyn stressed, "we are confident that our relations are relations between the two friendly nations and friendly peoples". According to him, mutual understanding between politicians and leaders much promotes to this end.

The two Speakers touched on preparations for holding a forum of the Democratic Choice Alliance, slated for December 1 and 2, which was initiated by Ukrainian and Georgian Presidents Victor Yushchenko and Mikhail Saakashvili.
