President Victor Yuschenko has denied the rumors that he intends to dismiss most regional governors, President's press office reported.
Visiting the Zaporizhzhya Region, Victor Yushchenko confessed that he positively assessed Yuri Artemenko’s performance as Head of the Zaporizhzhya regional state administration.
“I appreciate what is being done in Zaporizhzhya and the Zaporizhzhya Region by Oblast Head Yuriy Artemenko,” he said.
Yuschenko denied mass media rumors that he plans to dismiss 20 0f the 24 regional governors.
“I am convinced that this is a provocation to discourage these people,” stressed the Head of State.
At the same time, he stressed that the performances of the regions would be evaluated based on economic and social indicators.
