Former state secretary Alexander Zinchenko believes that objective and unbiased investigation of the facts outlined in the statement he made to the law enforcement agencies will continue.

Zinchenko's press service announced this in a statement.

"The September 20 decision of the Prosecutor-General's Office to open several criminal cases based on the allegations made in Mr. Zinchenko's statement demonstrated that the processes taking place in the high echelons of power pose a threat to the state," the press service said.

Zinchenko expressed confidence that Ukraine will meet the challenges of today regarding the rule of law and transparent government.

He promised to assist investigators as much as possible in order to ensure that the truth is established.

As Ukrinform reported, the Prosecutor-General's Office announced on Tuesday that it has opened several criminal cases into allegations of interference in the operations of the law courts by officials of the National Security and Defense Council.

The criminal cases were opened after investigation of the allegations made by Zinchenko.

Zinchenko accused members of President Victor Yushchenko's circle of corruption on September 5.
