Viktor Yanukovich, former Ukrainian PM, the leader of Party of Regions, has been staying abroad after he received a warning that he was under a threat of arrest, Taras Chornovil, Party of Regions memeber and former head of Yanukovich's election headquarters during the presidential campaign in Ukraine, said Tuesday to ICTV channel.

Fearing arrest Yanukovich did not take part in the recent celebrations held in Ukraine on the occasion of Miner Day and the 70th anniversary of Stakhanov campaign, Chornovil said.

At the end of July the press service of the Party of Regions reported that Viktor Yanukovich would go on leave to Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic, and that the ex-Prime Minister was planning to return to Ukraine by Miner Day, he traditionally celebrated in Donetsk.
