Government Organizations of Ukraine have purchased 1.4 million tonnes of grains in domestic market, announced the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yuliya Timoshenko.
As of August 10 the amount of grain withdrawn by the government totalled 0.5 million tonnes and as of today the amount totals 1.4 million tonnes, AgriMarket reported.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the market stabilizing measures taken by the government bring the needed results. The market monitoring data show the presence of competition on Ukrainian market.
Besides, Yuliya Timoshenko expressed her satisfaction with the development of exchange grain trade.
The government of Ukraine has given the instruction to purchase 5.5 million tonnes of grain in the domestic market. The Committee for State Reserves has to buy 1 million tonnes of grains, Khlib Ukrainy - 2 million tonnes, Agrarian Fund - 1 million tonnes. Besides, regional reserves will store 1.5 million tonnes of loan grains.
