Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko was scheduled to meet with his cabinet behind closed doors today to evaluate his first six months in power, RadioFreeEurope reported.

Yushchenko's office says he is expected to hear updates on government pledges to raise living standards, tackle endemic corruption, and create 1 million new jobs.

The meeting also is likely to address rising food prices, a possible slowdown in economic growthm, and fears of another fuel crisis similar to one that hit Ukraine earlier this year.

Yushchenko came to power in January after last year's mass protests known as the Orange Revolution. His approval ratings remain high.
